Jacob “Moose” Cloer joined our staff in the Spring of 2026 after serving as a substitute in 2024 and 2025. Certified in FCAW and SMAW, Moose graduated from Southeast Whitefield High School in 2017 and attended the University of Saint Mary where he played varsity football from 2017 to 2020. The global pandemic changed his career aspirations and Moose enrolled at GTS in 2023. After graduating, Moose joined National Boiler Service where he was employed as a Structural Welder and Boilermaker traveling from coast to coast. His responsibilities included fitting pipe, valves, flanges, joints, plate and tubes. Additionally, Moose has experience in rigging, forklift operation, pallet jacks, plasma and torch cutting and safety compliance including OSHA and Mill wide standards.

A fellow student recommended the school after attending here. After the life-changing education he received made it an easy choice to attend here as well.

What did you do professionally after graduation?

Became a structural welder and boilermaker, working shutdowns in papermills across America
